Introduction
The My Classes feature in Incident IQ allows you to access your class rosters based on information pulling from the Student Information System your district has integrated with IIQ. This not only allows you to see your full selection of classes and class rosters but also allows you to quickly submit devices on behalf of students.
My Classes site options also allow districts to give teachers additional permissions that enable them to check devices in and out to students, as well as perform on-site asset verifications without the need for lengthy deployments.
To access all available My Classes features, simply click on the My Classes link at the top of any IIQ page.
Submitting Tickets through My Classes Rosters
When My Classes is enabled, you are able to quickly identify and submit tickets for students through a class roster. To begin, you will need to click on My Classes at the top of any page.
On the next page, you will need to select the class of the student you want to submit a ticket for.
From the class roster page, you can submit a ticket by clicking on the Submit Ticket option of any student.
This will open up a new window to complete the ticket submission process. Please note, while the ticket itself will default to submitting a ticket for the student’s device, you can click on the back button to submit a ticket for another issue.
Asset Check-In/Out through My Classes Rosters
If your district allows it, you can check assets in or out to students through the My Classes feature. To begin, you will need to click on My Classes at the top of any page.
On the next page, you will need to select the class you want to utilize for the check-in/out process.
Next, you will need to select whether you are checking assets in or out by selecting either Check-In Assets or Check-Out Assets.
When checking devices out to students, you will need to enter both the student ID number as well as either the asset tag or the serial number of a device. If available, this process does support the use of a barcode scanner.
When checking devices in, you will only need to enter the asset tag or the serial number of a device.
Alternatively, you can scan devices through the use of a web camera by toggling the Use web camera option as well.
Verifying Assets through My Classes Rosters
If verifications are enabled as an option in My Classes, you can always verify the assets of students in your homeroom. Please note that your district may also give you the ability to verify assets in your other classes as well. To begin verifying assets, click on My Classes at the top of any page.
On the next page, you will need to select the class you want to verify assets in.
Once you have selected your class, you can begin verifying assets by clicking on Verify Assets near the top of the class roster page.
This will bring up the Verify Student Assets section. The location of the asset verification will default to the class location. If needed, you can specify a room number of the verification as well.
At this point, you can begin verifying assets by entering in the asset tag or the serial number of a device. If available, this process does support the use of a barcode scanner.
Alternatively, you can scan devices through the use of a web camera by toggling the Use web camera option as well.
